Car tire video

Since its been a little slow on the forum lately, here's another car tire video to review.

This one is a Goodyear Triple Tread (GYTT) on a Kaw 2000.

He seems to have about half the tire on the ground through the corners, thats should be more than enough under any circumstances.

that contact patch looks terrible. it has to handle like a truck in the curves. having owned a couple of sport bikes, i have learned alot about, and expect a bike to handle good. with the miss alignment of the contact patch between the front and rear tire in an an extreme lean angle, it would reach the point of being dangerous. don't look good to me.

I'm sure Todd will have some type of snappy retort to this.

I don't know much about lean angles and all, but I do know that this tire (Goodyear TripleTred) handles better in curves than any Bridgestone, Metzeler 880, or Avon Cobra MC tire that I have had on my bike. It has a MUCH smoother ride too. I'm VERY impressed with this tire on my Nomad. ;)

I know nothing about tires, lean angles, etc. But looking at that vid, looks like to me that the tire riding on its edge is putting alot of stress on the tire. You would think the side walls would allow the full bottom of the tire to remain fully on the road! Didn't like the look myself and of course Could be very wrong :) M/C for me!

Everyone knows your not supposed to run a car tire on a motorcycle no more than running a motorcycle tire on a car!!!! ::) ::)

You can't reach an "extreme" lean angle on a Nomad unless you remove a lot of hard parts. I don't think any Darksider is recommending using a C/T on a sport bike/crotch rocket.

P.S. I have seen some trucks that would leave a stock corvette in the curves.

What pressure did you settle with in the GY TT?

Why don't you use the money you didn't spend on loud pipes and get DSL or cable internet?

He was strapped to the side of the bike, hanging over the edge.

Cable is not available out here in the country where I live.
I could get Hugesnet but the money I save by not buying loud pipes would only cover 4 or 5 months of service.
They tell me DSL is only as good as your signal and I only have one bar here in the boondocks.
But the main reason is I'm cheap. ;)
I also want to buy a Drifter this year to keep my Nomad and Cindy's Honda company.
