Relocating Ignition Switch

I have a 2003 FI that I am getting tired of reaching around to get to the ignition switch. I have seen where suggestions are to move it between the jugs on the left side or in 1 of the side covers. Does any one have any suggestions on the best place to move it to? I would like to put it on the tank, but it appears that can only be done to the non-FI smaller tanks. Thanks

I would have liked to move my switch up on the tank as well by using a HD style switch, but discovered it can't be done on my 02 as well. Gadgets sight has an article on switch relocation that may give you some ideas. In the mean time I learned to just live with it where it is.

chuckster makes a real nice ignition switch the incorporate into the risers on your handle bars. There is a post in the "For Sale" section about moving the switch about a week ago and chuckster posted a pic of his setup that will enlarge into a big pic if you click on it.
I'm going to have him make one for my Phat II's on my 2004. I'm also tired of reaching around and under the tank.

Guess they finally got it right. It sure is nice to have it mounted on the tank. My '07 Honda I had to reach down on the left side for the ignition and now with the '08 Nomad it is within easy reach sitting right there by the speedometer. Seems that is the place they would have always had it. Good luck on a fix for the problem.

Chuckster's picture of his switch on the Phatt II is the one he did for me. I can tell you that it is the best mod I have made so far. Install time less than one hour. I have had mine for two weeks now and have only reached down a couple of times. I'm loving it!!! Thanks again Chuckster

I make the wire harness and is in heat shrink. It's routed down into the left side of the triple tree along with the clutch hose and the other wire harness. Looks very professional.
