Satellite Radio?

Would like to eventually (maybe after the first of the year) add a sound system. All I want is an FM radio. So after everyone told me about bad reception in some places, I've decided to get an XM or Sirius satellite FM radio. Don't want to fool with I-pods or MP3s or ear phones, just a radio with speakers on the handlebars. Some folks say you can't hear the speakers when you're on the road, but with the lowers and engine guard chaps I can hear and understand the lady's voice on my GPS when I'm on the highway. I know some on here have 'em. Any suggestions. What and where and how much? Do I need an amplifier with the radio? And where'd ya get the handlebar mounts? Just never cared for the earplugs or anything like that. Probably couldn't hear a train coming with those things in. Thanks for any input. Jamie
