Running rich
Ok, Im looking for some help form more experienced members before I head off to the dealer.
I am wandering if my nomad is running too rich or not. I have noticed a heavier fuel smell when at idle. I checked my spark plugs to check but not really sure what I am looking at so I have included a picture of them. The only mod I have done is the bafflectomy / no pc or tfi , no air breather mods. Thanks in advance for your input.

Make sure your air filter is clean, and try adding some Seafoam to a tank. Use premium gas and take it for a good ride on the superslab.Unless there is a bad sensor this may help clean it up.
The plugs don't look to bad on the insulator, but there is a bit of carbon buildup on the outer edges. A good run will pobably clean that up.

In addition to what Ringadingh suggested, clean the intake bores on your throttle body with Seafoam or throttle body cleaner and an old toothbrush. Pay close attention to cleaning the butterfly plates at the back of each tube.

Your bike should be lean as you describe it, if anything lean still. Your plug looks about like mine did at 8,000 miles of lean riding. Clean them up, check gap and re-use them for alot more miles.

Looks good to me.. At odd times you can expect to smell fuel. The weather is cooling where you are, the ecu sees it. The ecu has no idea you de-baffeled either.
Nothing to worry over.. Go for a nice long ride. I understand that will be a hardship ![]()
