2009 front axle size

I need to pull my front axle on my 2009 Nomad due to having a flat tire. Can anyone tell me what the size is of the hex opening? Thanks.

John

Check your spark plug tool in the owners tool bag. On the 1600's the large end of the plug tool fits the front axle.

There is no spark plug socket with the tools that came with the bike. Plan B?

Plan B:

The hex opening on the 1600's is 22mm. If the 2009 has the same size then this tool will work. It will fit 19mm, 22mm and 24mm hex openings.

You would need a socket that would fit the unused end of this tool so that you could use a ratchet wrench and a torque wrench.

P.S. Both the 1700 and 1600 have the same part number for the front axle so it should be a 22mm hex.

Faster is a bolt that size, and 2 nuts locked tight. I think mine are SAE even as 7/8ths is very close
