Premeux fairing prices
CruiserCustomizing.com http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/de...oduct_ID=39776 is selling the Premeux fairings for the Nomads. They come unpainted with 2 windshields and snap on cover over the radio space. $912 with free shipping for the 1600 and cheaper for the 1500. With about a 2 week shipping wait and a local paint match (solid candy cardinal red I'm thinking) could be my next add on. Anyone ever had their fairing locally painted and how much?

I had a small repair done on mine and repainted to match the bike about four years ago, It was $500.00 to get this done here locally. It was a first class job, but he charged me for it as well.
Premeux offers the fairings already painted to match your bike. Id call and ask how much to ship one already painted to you. Then its ready to install right out of the box. Would it be cheaper to deal with Premeux directly instead of through Cruiser Customising?

I purchased a Wide Open Custom fairing for $799 complete with marine radio and 4 speakers. Had it painted (two colors, silver & green) for $400.00. Looks and sounds great!

I have the Premeux, and did a lot of research on fairings before I purchased one about 3~4 years ago. I came up with the thought that to get a Premeux, already color matched, that all you had to do was to take it out of the box and put it on the bike, would justify the few extra dollars. If you sit down and figure all the cost involved, they really all end up costing about the same. I did get mine without the stereo, because I wanted to do my own. and about a year ago, I did repaint mine with the silver flames. I had the paint left over from when I painted my trunk.
P.S., I got mine straight from Serge @ Premeux.

I bought a premuex from a forum member used and had it painted black to match my bike. I had a guy from work paint mine and he only charged me $100 to paint the main fairing and the 2 lower fairings after I purchased the paint, which was $60. He supplied the clearcoat.
He even repair a cracked place on one of the lower fairings.

Hey Nomadwest, try this shop and it'll save you a few bucks. I've never dealt with them but they're cheaper than the website you listed.

I saw a guy here at blessing of the bikes and he took his fairing to a local auto body shop that had the camera digital analizer gig for paint match.. the guy gaurenteed he would be happy and it cost just shy of 250 to get his painted to match his blue and silver. it looked great to me, had the metal flake and everything.. might want to check out those resources!

What is the difference in weight from ABS Wide Open fairing and the fiberglass Premeaux fairing? Does the Premeaux come prewired with audio installed?
It looks like the cost is eventually going to end up being close no matter which one you get so I just want to know which one will be "the best deal" |

If you get the Premeux WITH their stereo, it will be installed in the fairing along with the speakers, but I choose to do my own stereo, so I had to do the wiring.

Just a side note. I crashed into a lady in Sturgis with my Nomad c/w with the Premeux Fairing and lowers and I think IMHO that the fiberglass stood up very well! I have had a car hit one of my Ventures and the plastic just basically exploded! What I seem to think is the fibreglass absorbed the crash and dissipated the impact. It appeared to be more of a thud then impact where with the plastic it was a big bang and a hard impact! Also, the fibreglass damage can be repaired and repainted where the plastic was just one big write off! Just something to consider, God knows no one wants to crash but "sh*t happens" and I think the glass is the way to go?
