Colorado Tour
This was our annual Water Tour for faculty that deal with water issues in Colorado. Not on a motorcycle but still very enjoyable.
![]() Tourquoise Lake Near Leadville ![]() A small mountain near Twin Lake. ![]() Twin Lake. This has a small hydro plant where we are standing. Basically for peak power. ![]() A historic area on Twin Lake. Supposed to have been a house of illrepute in its time. ![]() At the top of Cottonwood Pass. ![]() Just below Taylor Park Reservoir. They had a temp of 35 that morning. ![]() At the outlet of Taylor Park. This is only 350 cfs discharge. They can do up to around 1,000. ![]() Here is the valley leading into Crested Butte. ![]() Picture of Deuvi Reservoir above Basalt which is near Aspen. The last day of our tour was thru the Hayman Fire that burned in 2002. The fire burn approximately 139,000 acres. The pictures don't do it justice to the devistation that was done. ![]() ![]() ![]() We traveled over around 9 different passes during the entire trip. Some of these were gravel passes with several of them possible motorcycle runs when taking some caution.

In that picture of Cottonwood Pass the road looks paved. Last time I was up there it was gravel. Did they actually pave it?
You gotta love it when your "office" looks like that. beautiful country, and one of the reasons I live in Colorado.

I think that it was mostly if not all paved. Crap, we went over I think 9 passes and each one runs into another. Although, Independence Pass I would go over right now on a bike with all of the work on it.

I miss Colorado. I lived at Fort Carson for almost three years. Almost stayed there when I retired but moved back to Alabama. I traveled through lots of Colorado around Colorado Springs. I never saw anything I didn't like. I hope to be able to ride out one of these days.

In Colorado now. Rode the Telluride loop and got caught on the Million Dollare Hwy in a rainstorm. Oh well, that's part of the thrill. Beautifull riding. Staying in Pagosa Springs and riding all around. But alas, will have to leave it for HOT Louisiana come Sunday.

Cooling down the past week or so here. Maybe it won't be so bad when you get home. Glad you had a nice trip.
