Cover for a 2001 Nomad

I'm looking to buy a water/weather proof cover for my nomad and need some guidance. I want it to fit well and protect from the rain mostly. What are some good covers?
Currently the Tour Master Elite Motorcycle Cover looks good but should I get a XL or a 2XL, I want it to cover but not be big and sloppy. Any suggestions?

Im guessing that a XL will probably fit, the 2XL's are for bikes with fairings and a beerbox, I have one of the ones like you see on Ebay, for around $30.00 or so. Its just a nylon cover mainly for dust protection in the garage.

Cover for a 2001 Nomad

Just for your info, we won a Kawasaki cover 2 years ago from the VROC Reunion. It was XL and would not fit our Nomads. It was a padded cover, very nice but it would have to have been a 2XL to have fit our bikes. The padding may have made the difference as we too have the cheap covers for the garage and they are only XL. We donated the padded Kawasaki cover back to last years Rally for a door prize.

Like 1Nomad, I am also looking for a cover for my 2008. just cleaned out the garage yesterday so that I can move the bike over and get my pickup back in the garage. Now my Nomad will be in the stall where I keep my lawn mower and I know there will be more dust. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have not tried my Dowco Guardian XL cover since I added the new tourpak. I'd better go make sure it still fits.

I have one for sale made by Dowco for Kawasaki which retails for $180 new. It says Kawasaki on the sides with a big Vulcan logo. It fits the Nomads well, but NOT if you have a trunk. It has been used very little. Im asking $80 shipped for it. I can email a picture if you're interested.

I would like to know how your Dowco XL cover fit before and if it still fits? I to have a smaller trung on mine, it doesn't stick out the back as much. My trunk is one of the VIP trunks like you might have seen on Ebay. I would like to know if anyone else has a XL cover that fits or it looks like I should get a 2XL just to make sure it does fit!

I tried to add a picture but I can't figure out how!

In researching a cover for my bike it was suggested to not buy a "fancy" one that screams THIS COVER COSTS A LOT OF MONEY SO THE BIKE UNDER IT MUST HAVE A BUNCH INVESTED IN IT TOO!

A basic not descript even worn cover is a good way to go when traveling. "Hides your bike" and doesn't wave a red flag for the criminals.

I ended up buying a $20 cover from WalMart. Fits great, keeps the dust off, roll into the small bag included and doesn't stand out.

This one is not water proof.

I got the Covermax for my '02, I got the next size up from what was listed for the bike, because at the time I had a trunk, I no longer have the trunk mounted, but I like the larger size as it is easy to get over the bike but is still tight enough to do the job. I have not yet built a shelter for my bike so this cover is the sole source of protection for my bike from the elements and it has served me well.

If you want to know the exact size I am using I can check that when I get home. Could even take a pic if that would be helpful.

If this was directed at my post, it was a good fit with no trunk, snug all around the bottom and has very good elastic, unlike the dust cover type. I don't think even a small trunk would allow it to fit over the back properly.
Here is a picture of it:

Cover for a 2001 Nomad

I recently bought a Kawasaki brand cover off of ebay.....currently being offered here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-O...Q5fAccessories

I love it, even tho it's a little pricey. Fits like a glove and doesn't blow off like my previous cover.
