Just installed Stebel

Just got through installing the Stebel horn that came in this afternoon. I'm new to this kind of stuff and thought about getting someone to help me. But I just went ahead and did it myself. It took about an hour, I took my time, wasn't in any hurry. And it sounds awesome. My stock horn was probably louder than any stock horn I've heard, personally. But I wanted to make someone drop their cell phone or pi** their pants for pulling out in front of me so I got the Stebel Nautilus. Some advice for some of you newer ones out there, though. I paid another $10 and got the Plug-n-Play Wiring Harness for the Stebel Nautilus and it was so simple anyone who knew much about it could probably install it in about 10 minutes. In the other kit you had to connect all the wires and probably had to buy something else to go with it. Jamie

Just don't test that sucker for the first time in the garage, and secure the cats and kids.

Jamie, Did you have to use the optional little jumper because your negative wire runs from the switch to the horn?. That's how mine was. A little confusing at first but it all worked out OK after I figured out the current path.

Too bad we don't have the room to mount a train horn on the bike, then people would sh*t themselves when that baby goes off.

Ells: Too late, in my garage, turned on the switch and it went off til I turned the key back off and scared the crap out of my wife, which leads me to
Mitch: Yes, I did have to use the little jumper so it wouldn't be continuous. Also had to plug into the other stock horn wire.

That, my friends, will get anyone's attention!!!!!

BT, The plug and play does include the relay. You have to have the relay to prevent frying your stock horn button or overloading the small wiring. The horn's power comes directly from the battery while the stock horn wiring and button only triggers the relay. The plug and play harness is worth the extra $20 IMHO.

Where do you purchase the Stebel horn and how much money are we talking? Sounds like it is what I need although my horn is fairly loud. You can never make too much noise.

You should go through a relay. A Stebel draws too much current for the stock horn wiring to handle.
