Dan's $6.00 Ram Camera mount

I built a camera mount for my camera that clamps onto the bars. I was too cheap to buy one, so I made one.

I'm going for a ride with Ells for lunch tomorrow, so I'll see how the pictures turn out.

If it works fine, you can make one for $6.00, less if you don't buy stainless threaded parts.

It looks like it should be ok, as long as it doesn't vibrate to much.

There is the rubber cut from an old grip cut to go around the bar, then it clamps to the rubber. There is another piece of rubber under the wing nut.

That wing nut in the picture locks the screw down in the slot cut in the top piece. The slot is so that it can be moved forward and back as needed to aim the camera.

I also have another wing nut that will go on the threaded part upside down, to lock the camera on.

It would make more sense if I took a picture of the camera mounted, but with one camera that's not so easy to do :)

I made the exact same thing for an iron butt ride i did last month. The pictures turned out okay and the videos turned out great.

the camera mount ::) that is. I like to see if you guys get a reflection from the shield.

Yes there is a reflection-depending on the light angle.

Fish was right about the reflections. I went for a ride with Ells at lunch and tried it out. There is a reflection from the silver on the camera. I'll post a video after it gets done uploading to youtube.

I'll look it over and see if it's something that some black felt in the right place will fix.

It's easier to ride when you aren't holding the camera in one hand and riding with the other, but my arm was pretty good at keeping the vibrations out and keeping it even with the horizon when dipping into a turn.

I have my camera on a ram mount just to the outside of the shield, no reflections but it does get hammered with bugs

as you can see I don't have much room for anything else I took the GPS off the speedo and the ram mount on the left is where I put the digital camera

Holy Crap Fish...LOL...so how did you run the plumbing for the "kitchen sink" ...you've got everything else, just assuming you've got a sink too
