Turn Signals as Running Lights
I have an '03 Nomad that I just purchased a Priority Lites unit for - (adds tail & stop light functions to rear turn signals) Not sure if anyone is familiar with this installation - but I'm having a problem.
Although tail and brake light functions seem to work as advertised, despite following the wiring instructions to the tee - when I click on my turn signals I get a very fast blink rate with the front (stock) signals blinking at regular brightness and with the rear signals barely visible! Wondering if any other KawaNow member has had any experience with this product or installation - and might have a suggested remedy?! Thanks - Classicman Login or Register to Remove Ads |

There are a few posts about this very installation. I don't rememeber seeing one with this problem.
Do a search or look on the "Nomad Garage" and maybe the answer is there.

when I click on my turn signals I get a very fast blink rate with the front (stock) signals blinking at regular brightness and with the rear signals barely visible!

Brake/Run/Tail light converters often require a load equalizer even if you are using standard (not LED) lights ... check with the manufacturer of your converter .. or secondly a bad ground can cause that. |

I have the Priority Lite Plus and didn't need a load equalizer

Yep, that would be the definition of "often" vs "all".. often didn't include yours
check with the manufacturer of your converter
Probably always a wise thing to do.. Priority Lites offers this trouble shooting verbage for the Plus Model but nothing for the base model: TROUBLE SHOOTING 1. The PRIORITY PLUS is designed to operate two stock light fixtures and in NO case should more be added. 2. If PRIORITY PLUS does not function properly, check for low battery voltage. The PRIORITY PLUS requires a minimum of 10.5 Vdc, with a negative ground system to operate properly. 3. If the PRIORITY PLUS works as running lights, but not as brake lights, check to make sure the PRIORITY PLUS white wire is connected properly and has voltage in it. 4. If the running light mode, through the motorcycle’s turn signals, flickers or goes out as engine R.P.M. increase, make sure PRIORITY PLUS black wire is connected to a good ground wire. NOTE: Law pertaining to color and use of auxiliary lights may vary from state to state. Check local laws prior to installing this or any other device affecting lighting. NOTICE: PRIORITY PLUS used in conjunction with other accessories may total more amp/watt consumption than your particular motorcycle’s electrical system is capable of producing. Please check owner manual or local shop before installing any accessory requiring power. PRIORITY PLUS requires approximately 50 watts of additional power. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

I had a Priority Lite module and it worked flawlessly until I added my cruise control. Then the unit blew. Is there a contact email or phone number for them, as I would like to replace the unit after I talk to someone about it.
