While rattle hunting, I found.....

The chrome cover on one of my forks is loose. :-/

Below the trees.
One side is tight, the other side rattles. Lots of travel.
I can turn it all the way around, and I was hopeing it would tighten up that way, but no luck..
How do I tighten this chrome cover up?

I can provide pics tomorrow when the sun comes up if need be.

The good news is I have killed all major rattles in, my speedomoeter, my headlight, my lightbar, my windshield, and my exhaust system. Most of them just required an o-ring under the screws/bolts to quiet them.

Now if I can just get the valves quiet! ::) ;)

There is supposed to a couple small nylon buttons in there to keep it from rattling, yours must have fallen out. You can probably glue in a small nylon or rubber spacer if you take the cover off the bike. Or you may be able to slide something up there while its on the bike.

I have the same problem; one cover is loose and the other cover is fine. I thought about using a piece of round weatherstrip. I could slide the weatherstrip in between the cover the fork.
