Riding in NW Florida, Saturday 16 May

If anyone is interested....I belong to a local riding chapter from the Vulcan Riders Association and we are taking a chapter ride on Saturday 16 May. If you are interested just let me know (so we don't leave ya hangin if you are a little late) and see details below:

May 16th.

We will start at the I-10 exit 31 in Milton, Fl. (This is hwy 87). There is a Waffle House and convenience store on the NW corner. This will be our meeting place at 8m.

We will take a ride through Milton, the Blackwater Forest (narrow two lane shaded road), north on hwy 87 thru the farm lands into Alabama. In Brewton, Al we take county rd 49 which is a nice two lane road with plenty of gentle turns and hills. Great scenery with wedding cake houses. Watch out for wild life.

Then there will be a short (5 mile) trek down I-65 to state hwy 41. Hwy 41 has some serious curves and hills and scenery on our way back to Brewton.

For lunch we can do either of two choices. In Jay (near Brewton) there is Kooter Browns. They serve burgers, nachos, etc (Sports bar kinda place). This would leave us with about a one hour ride after lunch back to Milton. The second choice for lunch is to ride to Milton and eat at a place called Red Barn. It is a BBQ restaurant. Incredible baby back ribs. Both are nice places and would be very welcoming. Let me know your choice for lunch.

Since part of this is in Alabama, helmets are required. The total trip is about 175 to 200 miles round trip to the starting point.

We really want to get up that way and ride. We've never been in NW Florida before.

I wish we can make it but I have to work on the 16th.

Mike, we will make it up that way some time with you. I like that area and we didn't get to explore much on our tour over spring break because of the weather. I'm sure Derry would be our guide or skimo would do it.

I know your schedule is pretty busy this summer and mine is crazy with getting the house ready to sell and the other travel plans the Nat and I have already planned.

We will make it happen. I have every Friday, Saturday and Sunday off other than for the National Rally and when I am going to Ohio for our niece's wedding in July. If you think of a weekend you want to go, just let me know.

I'm sure I will be able to get that psycho DaBull out in his car to visit with us, lol. Lord knows, he won't take his bike out in a little shower...LOL!

little, LIttle, LITTLE Shower???!! Lets see, pouring down in buckets, tornado and water spouts spotted, rivers flooding, ocean waves crashing, standing lakes accross the roads, - i take the car and you call me a psyco???
