Running Rich

Hey folks,

my 03 Nomad with after market bub pipes is running really rich. Blackened spark plugs, black smoke out the rear the works. Any suggestions before the mechanics gouge me. It doesn't have a power commander and the pipes have been on it for thousands of KMs but it wasn't a problem before. New plugs were put in about 3000 km ago. At this time it does not have a K&N Filter but the one in it is relatively clean. I'm gonna run some sea foam through it to see if it helps

Try the Seafoam in the tank, but more importantly get some carb cleaner in a spray can and clean out the throttle body really well, use a toothbrush as well to do the butterfly's. You may find it idles fast when your done, just turn it down. I had very simalar problems and that was the cure for my bike. I see your from TO , theres another fella here also, we should meet for a ride someday.

Thanks for the advice. What year is you bke? I have never cleaned the throttle body before. What does it entail?

My bike is an 02, I clean the throttle body about twice a year, or if if feels like its not running right.
