Got mine, April of 07. It's was a new 06 at the time. I've put 38,000 miles on it with no repairs/problems.

October 2008 brand new, 5 days later 630 miles. Leaking rear seal, loose throttle cable. Guess I got the lucky bike, thank goodness for the warranty.

I had a 1999 bought new, I put 63,000 miles on it.
It had a couple of clutches, one set of brake pads, the POG replaced (only needed it on 99's) speedo replaced due to a foggy film under the glass, the leaky cam plugs fixed at different times (they seemed to have fixed the problem on later years), starter replaced, 1 battery under warranty, 1 on my own, an o ring where the shaft from the shifter goes in, the boot on the drive shaft, a coolant leak (don't remember where from), when it was brand new it kept killing headlights and they good willed a few of them, when I bought my spots (fire and steel) they burned out in the first week and they good willed them, ..........that's what I remember. All but the clutches, brakes, and 1 battery, it was all done under the standard or extended warranty. Needless to say, when people ask about whether or not the standard warranty is worth buying, my perception is that is is certainly worth it, especially if it is bought for under $400. I had on 05 that needed the fuel pump replaced at about 2,000 miles. My 06 had all of the clutch including the cylinder on the bars replaced for an undiagnosed (so far) problem, but not until I already spent $800 on it. And the odometer pod for a intermittent nonworking select mode button. |

I have a 2000 nomad fi. Thunder rebuilt my motor at 105,000. They boosted it to 95 ci. I now have 111,000 and a few change on it. I don't know that it really needed a rebuild, I did need a new clutch, so I thought I would go all the way. I am going to replace my front bevel gear unit, I do have a whine that I don't want to hear. I am hoping that will solve the problem. Oh well, she has been good to me so far, I can't complain she has never let me down yet.

Well my 07' being new and the weather being so damn cold lately I only have 400 on her.
When I traded in my 01' she had just over 47,000 miles on it. I replaced the clutch spring twice. besides that just tires, brakes and oil changes, routine stuff. Come to find out someone bought her from the dealer I sold her to already, The Nomads don't sit around for long! I'm sure she will do justice to whoever bought her for many more miles ![]() |

Rainman, I really like what you've done with your Nad.
![]() OH, I only have 25,500 on my '05 1600, and only periodic maintenance, I do need to replace the rubber boot that covers the U-joint on the swing arm in my next swing arm maintenance.
