Boy, has this thread degenerated. If you ride in VT you will often see sheep grazing near the roadside, but when a motorcycle rumbles through they head for the hills.

I have a balaclava. It has a seam that runs vertically, front to back, so when I take it and my helmet off, I have a red stripe down the middle of my forehead. It doesn't go away for a half hour or so. This seam is also uncomfortable under the helmet. I'll have to see if I can find one without the vertical seam for next winter.

Get yourself a shellaclava
I bought one for the cold weather. They are thin material on top, to fit beneath a helmet and a thick synthetic fur-like material below. No seams to leave red marks on your head, and very warm and comfortable. I only got to use mine 3 or 4 times last winter, but I was glad I had it.

Wow Wanderer, that is mighty impressive... We keep quite a bit in our saddlebags, although I am not sure we could ever match wanderer! We have a friend that doesn't have saddlebags, so we have to carry all of his crap for him.... The list includes:

1. 3 sets of chaps
2. 3 leather jackets,
3. 3 vests,
4. my purse, with all of the PH Customs crap (actually, got to carrying too much, started damaging the muscles in my shoulder, had to graduate to a backpack how sad is that)
5. Tool Kit
6. Insurance papers/registration papers
7. Tire Air gage
8. bottle of water/gatorade
9. soft rags (to wipe down the bike)
10. hairbrush
11. David's Wallet
12. Extra set of keys for all of our vehicles/house, etc
13. Extra bandanas

I think that is just about it for the stuff that stays in there. Usually try to stuff some more useless crap in when we go somewhere... lol

Now you know why I got the trailer for longer trips. The trailer even has an external rack for a 2.5 gallon gas can.
