It looks nice for what it is. I guess it might be a great way to go if you don't want tunes, gauges, etc.

Yep that's it exactly in my case. Don't want or need all the other things. Just wanted the benefit of a better windscreen. It's also quick detach. Takes two seconds (literally) to remove it if you want to ride it bare. Probably won't ever take advantage of that feature, but it's there if I ever want to ride it without. Really nice for cleaning the front end. Just pop it off.

Probably the single biggest thing was price. I got it delivered to my door for $384.00 If a guy wanted music, the hogtunes setup is $200. Done deal for $584.00

I really enjoy my Hogtunes. Even at speeds of 80+ i can hear fairly well. However, I do have hearing loss in my left ear. I would recommend this setup.

That does look good No wonder you like it so much. I'm guessing that is not a stock Nomad color? At least I haven't seen it. Looks kinda like a black cherry. Really sharp. Where'd the Vulcan emblem come from on the Memphis? Also like what you did with your bag tops and the chrome strips. Are those frenched in lights on the bags themselves. I see you did the key switch/ignition transplant to console and the custom polished bezel, LED taillights. Probably lots more that I'm missing. You've got some cool stuff going on there. You did that thing up nice. Also couldn't help but notice that someone cut your head off in the third picture. That looks painful. Hope you're gonna be alright.

Do the Memphis lowers help out much? Was thinking about getting a couple sets (one for each). I like the triple storage bag/pouches that Memphis makes for the fairing. I know I'd use it, but they're pretty proud of those little pouche$.

Went for about 350 miles of riding this weekend (just got back from about 200) and can't say enough about how much better the Memphis is in strong winds and just cruising easy-like than the stock piece. Absolutely no buffeting. Much better. I tried every setting I read about for the stock piece and could never get rid of the buffeting. Makes ya wonder........as many years as they made these bikes it was the one thing that the cycle magazines picked on every year. They couldn't come up with much else, but always the buffeting. You'd think Kawasaki would've fixed that.

It is a stock color, just poor lighting. It is Luminous Red. No frenched in lights, just reflectors. The windshield bag came from Vikingbags.com. Modified the mounting of the Hogtunes audio to mount lower inside the fairing using a set of plumbing pipe hangers from Lowe's. The hangers are mounted to the handlebars and the audio kits is secured with self tapping screws. This allows for the windshield bag to be mounted using the center bolt in the fairing windshield. The windshield is a recurve from Long Riders Shield. The Memphis lowers help, plus I made a set of larger fork lowers that are mounted close to the fairing lowers to help deflect more wind. Thanks for the kind words. PS, maybe that explains the headache. Also, went out today for 100+ miles. Almost forgot, the Nomad emblem came off the old windshield. I used 3M double sided tape and re-installed on the fairing.

Nomadrider, I really enjoy my hogtunes, It comes with a 50 WATT AMP builtin. It is clear even at 80+ MPH. Hope this helps. Enjoy.

Thanks for answering all my questions. One more if you don't mind......I don't see any speakers. Are you using ear buds with the hogtunes, or are the speakers just kinda hidden from view.

I saw a real nice (thoroughly) customized Yamaha Roadstar a few weeks back. He had a fairing similar to ours and his speakers were mounted to the handlebars. It didn't look half bad. Never got a chance to speak to the owner about his setup.

Thanks again.

Dan

The speakers are mounted inside the Hogtunes setup. They are waterproof speakers. The setup consist of 4.25" speakers, 50 watt amp, handlebar mounted volume control. This system is not a radio setup. It is used with an MP3, I-pod, or satelite radio. If you look at the last picture under the windshield bags you will see the system.

I had gone to Hogtunes webpage and all I saw were the Harley setups. Went and checked ebay and found the setup that fits our fairings. I get it now. Little self-contained unit. Still don't have much interest in tunes, but my girlfriend might like it. Thinking about getting one for her birthday in May. She likes her music and looks like this would work for her. Thanks for the tip on Vikingbag.com too. Went and checked out their stuff and saved it n favorites.

Hey danimal2. If you are thinking of purchasing this unit, may I suggest a company to checkout. Checkout sscustomcycle.com These guys are the cheapest that I have found. They are located out of NY. When I ordered my unit, it was $100 cheaper than any where else that I shopped. They ship fast and their price includes shipping in the lower 48.
