Custom Speedo Face Plates

I sent him a note asking if he could change the dial from 0-140mph on my Nomad to 0-130 and the corresponding numbers in between moved to match so that the speedometer error is almost eliminated. That was with the needle straight up at 70 it would now be straight up at 65 which is real close to the true speed.

We'll see what kind of answer I get. Sure beats buying a speedohealer for a hundred bucks.

I know it sounds stupid, but when I put the needle back, I just brought it about -5mph when mounted and strangely enough, it is spot on with my GPS between 45 and 75ish

It's a simple adjustment, and since I use the GPS for a speedo most of the time it's no big deal.

BTW, a custom design is the same price as an existing design, so go custom :)

Yeah, but then you change the size of tires and you're off again...The good news is, it shows that the Nomad is so fast, its moving even while parked....

Too bad it is in reverse

I bet the KawaNOW logo would look mighty nice on a speedo. If you replace the lettering across the top with the numbers in white. That would be sharp.

You're right OP, I wonder what the KawaNOW patch would look like as a speedo pl ate. Might have to raise up the "KawaNOW" and delete the web site.

I love mine!!! We did a Polar Bear ride yesterday and I got to ride with my new speedo plate for the first time!

Here's a few pics....they're not the greatest because the bikes were parked in the sun.

I sent several emails and he said he wasn't interested in changing the MPH numbering. Kept telling me he cant correct the inaccuracies in my speedometer. that wasn't the question I asked, I only asked for him to renumber it from zero to 130 and he said no.

So just drop the needle by 5mph

It gets you in the ballpark

On my bike the 4mph error is not constant. For example; at 10 mph it does not show me going 14.

It's not going to address that, but if you correct for the area of 65-80mphish, that will take care of the majority of the time you are at speed (well for me anyway)

It's a dirty fix, but it does work
