Replacing grips...suggestions?

The endcap is plastic and LH threads. mine came off using one of those strap wrenches. The foam grip part came off by sticking a small flat blade screw driver up under it and going around the bar to break it loose. Once loose, it came right off and is not torn up, it could be reinstalled.
I then use some sandpaper to remove the old glue and scuff up the bar. i used a little gorilla glue. I did not have the kury glue since I had the grips I took off my old suzuki c50.
It has been on for well over a year and holds great.

Glad to hear a report on the flame grips. I have the Kury's on the Nomad already. Absolutely love them. But I was wanting to replace the grips on the Sabre. Looking hard at the flames as it goes with the Honda's theme. You've made up my mind. Thanks for the report.
PAUL, On the Sabre GET the Kuryakyn UNIVERSAL ones,, They slip over the stock throttle sleeve...If you dont mind messing with the cables get the Sabre model.ALL the info is in the Mod section on The Sabrehood site.......The FLAME grips look good on my Buds wife Shadow,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Rich

SOME OF YOU GUYS PROBABLY DONT REMEBER THIS TRICK...WHEN I WAS FIRST BEGINING TO MESS WITH BIKES..AND WANTED TO REPLACE THE GRIPS...WE TOOK A CAN OF HAIR SPRAY AND SPRAYED THE INSIDE OF THE GRIP AND THE HANDLEBAR...THEN, JUST SLID THE GRIP ON THE BAR...THE SPRAY ACTED AS A LUBE TO GET THE GRIP ON AND THEN DRIED LIKE GLUE...BUT A GLUE THAT WAS WATER SOLUABLE....YOU COULD WORK A LITTLE WATER UP BETWEEN THE GRIP AND BAR TO EASILY GET IT OFF IF YOU NEEDED TO LATER..

Thanks, Radco. Repacing those grips will be one of my winter projects. It helps to know people. Keep thinking about selling the Honda, but it's so nice I can't bring myself to do it.
