for the life of me I can't see why they can't manufacture a tire for cruisers or touring bikes that can't get at least 20K.

Well,,,,,, I do know why. I just don't like to think about the reason!! ::) ::)

Well I see yer not talkin... My rear is smoother than a babies a$$. Or El Deado.. Of course it is OEM junk... I expected that, and so did you.... Then of course there is that ft stone junk which will last forever, but looks like it belongs on a dirt bike just the same all knobbie.

I liked Metz on my 1500, but didn't get to wear them out. At 6,000 miles they looked great, but after that the bike was just gone..

So a new Metz up ft is in order, and something for the rear is a real must have, but what?

Seems to me there is 2 kinds of black gold these days. Gas and oil and then tires!

Because all these guys that just ride 1000 miles a year would have the stock tires for 20 years, until they were rotten and blew out but still had half the tread left.

(Actually I think it's for the same reason the factory manual lists such low tire pressures. They're afraid some lugnut will wipe out from too little traction. I'm surprised the factory tires aren't even softer.)

I think a motorcycle tire needs to be softer compound to insure grip. a car tire dosen't need as much grip as a bike tire therefore it can have a harder compound.
Not saying they couldn't be better for bike with a little research but why would a manufacturer want to do that? They sell a ton of bike tires now. Each one is three times the price of a car tire.

??? I'd be satisfied with 10,000!

Much depends on how you ride and where you ride. Some people and some roads are worse for tires.
