Not really, of course you can't see through a fiberglass fairing but you don't really need to. I have an 8" tinted shield on mine and I see over it, not through it.

For the Reckless fairing: remove your windshield (4 bolts) attach fairing to windshield brackets (4 bolts). If you have a stereo, lights, gauges, etc, you will have to do some wiring, but that's not too bad. It just depends how fancy you want to get.

It depends on your skills as far as installing the radio and speakers and wiring to the bike as far as the fairing itself from what has been said about the Reckless fairing they mount fairly easy to your windshield mounts

I like the Harley fairings, mainly because of the cutouts for the gauges and stereo, but they are a little more work to install, since you need to make or buy brackets to fit. Reckless seem to be the cheapest to buy, but need prep and paint. Premeux is one of the more expensive , but comes painted to match right out of the box. Most of these brands are bolt ons, and go on in a few minutes.

I'm told the reckless is very easy to install. For those of us that modified an HD fairing, I'd say the level of difficulty was about 11 on a scale of 1-10. Not for the the faint of heart.

What kind of price are we looking at?
I purchased an HD style fairing off e-bay. It is similar but not the same as the Reckless fairing available as others stated. The problem not getting one with brackets designed for the Nomad is you will have to either make your own, or purchase brackets specific for it or modify (which is what I did) the existing brackets that come with the fairing. I would honestly suggest the Reckless fairing as less hassle modifying or having brackets made and if your going to purchase them from someone, then the cost of the fairing AND the brackets would likely be more than the Reckless fairing you can buy and shipped to you. They will come prepped for paint in primer and are easy for a painter to finish prep and paint in your bike's colour. One thing I would suggest to save $ and time is paint the inner fairing satin black after you've got your speakers, stereo installation mounting done. Then take apart and paint the entire fairing. This way any holes, etc that need to be drilled can be done before painting. Also ensures it FITS perfectly first. If your use to the windshield I would also suggest installation with the larger windshield that comes with the fairing first, and ride it like that before you decide to install a lower profile one.
One other thing is if you have a light bar for driving lights it should allow clearance of the fairing. If you don't and want to add driving lights you will need one. There are pictures in another thread here you can look through for inspiration/designs/painting etc.
Since I know your close, if you need help with the install once you decide to get it let me know, I'm just down the road :)

They look cool, extra protection from the road debris.

Add your own flavor, this is an older pick, I have added more stuff. upgraded receiver to a pioneer HD media Player plus a 100 watt amp, you will hear my system before you hear my pipes :)

Reckless is easy to use. easy to modify.
