NOMAD DRIVERS BACKRESTS ARE READY!

From what I've heard, it sounds like a winner. I'm one of the old gents who's back is always tired after riding a few hundi. I know I'll put it to the test at the west get together! that will be the longest ride since I've been back to riding motorcycles 2 years ago.

NOMAD DRIVERS BACKRESTS ARE READY!

Got my backrest today. Mounted it. Took all of 5 minutes.

Couple of observations:

The cover on the backrest is nice quality. The staples used on the bottom detract a little from an overall nice looking pad.

As Todd pointed out to me, Lonnie's design is so simple and well thought out you ask your self why you didn't think of it.

I "tweaked" mine a little because as doc pointed out, it isn't adjustable unless you have a nice press or bench vice.

I thought the channel that the backrest seemed a little loose because the backrest would wiggle when slid into its slot so I used my press to squeeze then channel a little and now is slides in like a precision instrument. You'll need a strong press because Lonnie used thick steel!!

I also had to change the angle a tiny bit so the backrest fit my lower back better ie: brought it forward a little bit 1 inch maybe.

Over all, it now fits me perfectly and it doesn't need to be adjustable because of my "persuasion" tools made it fit me perfectly.

For 100 bucks delivered, it's a steal compared to whats out there in the market place!

NOMAD DRIVERS BACKRESTS ARE READY!

How high does the backrest go and is it comfortable for big guys? I'm about 6'2 and 280lbs and need something sturdy. Is this something I should consider for my backrest?
