Fairing and Trunk painting in Phoenix Area?

Does anyone know of a place to get a fairing and/or a trunk painted in the phoenix AZ area?
I don't have either yet, but I would like to get an idea of what it will cost, so I can decide what type of fairing/trunk I want.

thanks,

Hmmm...I've never had anything painted here. I think most of the VROC folks are up in Oregon at a rally or I'd ask them for a name or two. You're in Anthem, right? No sense sending you to Buckeye or Chandler.

Let me ask around, I know a few people who might know.

CCMJR77,

There's a lady that I know from one of the groups I ride with, who owns (I think) Competition Body and Paint at 4648 NW Grand Ave (on Grand between Camelback and Missouri.) They do all the paint work for Arrowhead Harley, Apache Honda and several other bike dealers.

Her name is Dawn, give her a call if you're interested. Here's their website: http://www.competitionbodyandpaint.com/.

Tell her Scott from PMRG sent you.

Jack Foree is a good painter. He is a member here, but has only posted here a couple of times.

He's not in Phoenix, I think he's in Holbrook, but I'm not sure.

Good honest guy, and you couldn't meet a better person.

Ditto that. He lives in Holbrook and owns a paint shop. It is about 180 miles from Phoenix but his work is very good from pictures that I have seen.

So did you ever contact that body shop I recommended? Just wondering if they treated you okay.

I called and asked for Dawn. The receptionist is good at screening calls, and when I said, that a friend give me her name and number about getting something painted, she transferred me to Tim (I think that was the name). She never would let me talk to Dawn.
He give me a ballpark price of $400, which seems high to me for just a fairing, but Jack Foree told me $300-$500 so I guess it was inline. It just makes that low cost Wide Open Fairing over $1000.

I would have thought it could be done for around $200.

I think Dawn is one of the owners, she may not take all calls. It was my idea for you to ask for her. Sorry about that.

Depending on the condition of the 'glass, it MAY be cheaper.....some fibreglass parts aren't molded very smoothly so the "ballpark" price includes blocking/leveling the surface.

The fairing that I am looking at is the Wide Open Custom, which is plastic and not fiberglass, would the same apply? Is there much difference in painting one vs. the other?
thanks.
