My Butt is Impressed

Well I have not been able to ride my new to me 2012 1700 Nomad due to cold temps and lots of rain here the last 2 weeks.

Yesterday it was 64F and today it was 74F. Needless to say I've rode both days.
Both rides were over 2 hours each.
I just realized that my backside was not screaming as usual (while riding my Yammie). I like the stock seat. It seems to fit me pretty well and my butt has been thanking me profusely.

It's been beautiful in this area, hasn't it? I rode a little yesterday and back and forth to work today. I was this || close to leaving early so I could ride today.

Glad your backside is happy! A comfortable seat does impact the pleasure of the ride.

Ride safe,
Smokier

The stock Voyager seat is the nicest stock seat I've ever sat on.

I was most impressed with the stock seat on the 1700 Nomad. Fits me perfect and was really happy not to drop a thousand bucks on a new seat. With both 1700 Nomads I have had, I have around 120,000 kms combined in the saddle and have zero complaints about the seat. The few times I have taken a passenger they also have been very comfy

I bought a new 2019 Voyager a year ago in February. I was not impressed with the stock seat. My backside started getting pretty sore after about an hour riding. I figured I was going to have to shell out for an after-market seat if I wanted to do any long rides. I decided to do a little modification on the seat to see if it would get me by till I felt like I could afford a new seat. I pulled back the seat cover & shaved a wedge out of the back part of the foam and then shaved a little out of the middle where my tailbone sits. After riding in the modified saddle for I while, I figured out that this was probably the most comfortable motorcycle seat I've ever owned. Last year my wife & I made a 5 day trip to the Texas hill country & then made a week long ride to northern Arkansas. I can ride all day now with no soreness at all. I guess everyone's backside is a little different.

I do not know if the Voyager/Nomad has a Grasshopper slot for a back rest on the stock seats but there is a Guy in Canada that makes a Very good/ adjustable Drivers back rest for the Vaqueros/ Voyagers. Joe Stapleton, look him up on FB if you need more info. His product is Strong/ Solid and, Yes 200 bucks or so shipped. But still a great product and very well made. I have one.
