Have you Opened up the throttle assembly on the bars (Use a "JIS" Phillips Screwdriver really soft screws) and checked for a small "C" shaped ring riding in the cable grove? of the hand grip. You may have a Racin Rays throttle mod installed. This will tighten up your throttle response. It was the only fix available before the Flash was even invented/ on the market.

If you do have it in there, Just gently pop it out. Then see where your at with throttle response. It should help.

Lot of truth in that. ANY screw on the bike that has DOT or DIMPLE on the head, you need to use the Jap screwdrivers. I bought a set few yrs back.

They look the same, but they are NOT. Don't wait till you have the stator ripped apart and strip out a head. LOL

Again, JIS screws will have a dimple on the head.

Just a FYI

That's similar to the problem I had. It annoyed me so bad I actually put the original ECU back in. I miss the improvements from Ivans flash but the stumble at low speeds annoyed me more than the improvement did.
From the amount of people that had good things to say about the flash, i resigned myself to it being something unique to the bike and not a problem of the flashed ECU.............Mike

I have had same issue, lubed cables with WD40, solved the problem last year. Started doing it again this spring after 2000 miles, lubed them again, didn't help at first but working much better now. I think the WD40 worked its way down. Road last night and was almost perfect. I know MR Mikey lubed his cables but didn`t seem to help. I only give it 2 or 3 shots and not much gets in the cable housing but seems to work. I also have learned to run a higher gear in town. 30 mph 4th gear. 25 mph 3rd gear.

Please don't use WD40 on the control cables. It will only age badly and hold dirt and grundge in the cable.

Many years ago we used to mix lighter fluid and dry graphite powder back into the lighter fluid can. The filler tip made it very easy to direct the mix into the end of a cable (might have to disconnect or remove a cover). The lighter fluid dissolved and flushed crud out of the cover at the low end of the cable and left graphite in its place for lubrication.

Today you can buy nearly the same product in any parts/hardware store Lock-Eze. Every year, every cable on every machine in the garage gets a few drops on the top of the cable. It even works on the lock in the front door too.

Vulcanscott

Where are you at??? Did you find the mod??

For me the low speed throttle was the uncontrollable part. Not after the Flash.

And I still run the RacinRays mod with the Flash. I like the instant responce. It can be jerky, but not Lagging. The thing I had was with the Jerk operating the throttle.

Clutch control and a steady hand is All I needed.

I hate to admit it, but I let My new Son-inlaw take My daughter inlaw for a ride the other day and He wants A Vaquero now. He was a long time Harley/Indian rider. Although he could be Blowing smoke up where the sun does not shine , yet my daughter inlaw said the ride was fine. ????????

And after it evaporates it leaves the dirt. And Oils just keep collecting the dirt. Lock ez I am not familiar with. I use liquid Graphite on all locks and cables. ( dry lubricant) I must admit it is Black and stains, Plus it is messy
