Now my voyager sounds good also

After reading someone's post about driving a hole through the two plugs in the exhaust with a long bar that I ground to a point my exhaust sounds great. I drilled a hole in the first plate then hammered the 1" bar through. Then with a drill bit extension I drilled the next plate and finished by hammering again. I was able to drill one more hole through the mesh that's up by the cat, so easy and it can now breathe and perfect deep rumble😎

Yes, that was Me! I would have drilled first also but I didn't have the tools. Also my Cat was removed when the bike was triked. I would like to find a stock set of mufflers so I could really work them over to see what can be done simply and cost effectively for us Vulcan riders.

I have drilled out the two baffle plates already. I'm interested in what you said about drilling through the mesh. How far in does the mesh go, and does that ruin the cat? I actually thought the mesh was part of the cat.

The mesh is the cat. There are 2 in each muffler. These also help keep the sound down even with the baffles drilled. I drilled mine, but left the cats along and really like how it turned out.

Have you got your Ivanized yet? Just curious if you claimed to have modified exhaust or not so he knows how to tune it.
