![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Been there done that, I only drink once a year on an annual motorcycle camping trip in Mammoth with my riding buddies from Southern California. I'm lucky that I can stay away from it because I was abusing it back in the day ![]()

We will be hitting the road Saturday on the way to Red Lodge. The heat index is predicted to be 111 and it is going to stay that way as we move west. I normally don't ride Interstates but on Sat we will hit I-80 at 0530 and head for Sterling, CO. With any luck we will be out of the heat by 1230 hrs CST. For sure, I will be using my cool vest and neck tie and staying hydrated. See ya there and ride safe.

I corrected your post Brad.
Seriously everyone. I know all of you are experienced but we are not 25 anymore (we just act it) so be cautious, stay ahead of the hydration game even though it adds time to your trip. More stops, keep your core cool, leave early, pack the camelback & cooling vest, plan your route through cooler areas, use sunblock, shorter days in the saddle, literally keep a cool head, ship some clothes if needed to make room for cooling items, etc. Play it safe. On my recent 2300 mile trip to and from SoCal I did about 1000 of it on hot (97-108 degree) slab. The heat & dehydration can sneak up on you. Once I resigned myself to more cooling stops it was bearable and safer. It took me several days to recover mainly because I didn't hydrate enough BEFORE I started the trip, so I was always playing catch-up. See you soon! Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

Grant and his wife used the long pants and long sleeves and liked them better then the short sleeve one. I wear the short sleeve shirt and short pants and have 4 sets. I think I will go and pick up a long sleeve and try it out on this trip. You can pick them up on sale for around $10.00 each. |
