1600d7f vs 1600d7fa?
My search for parts and paint led me to discover these 2 differences. My search for answers didn't enlighten me much but seems to suggest the fa has break lights on the saddle boxes?
I'm just curious.

Never seen brake lights in the saddle bags except as after market installations by owners at least in North America, so I suspect that is not the difference.

I think it might have something to do with California emissions.

The f's are black and the fa's are two tone models, only difference. Also 1500/1600 Nomads have always had a single center brake/running tail lamp. Never been a OEM bag light although many, many folks have added them from the after market.

I thought that might have something to do with it, since in the shop manual I have that covers 2005-2006 years, they show on the model identification page a a pic of a two tone as vn1600-d1 and a pic of a black as vn1600g6f but no other explaination.

No Nomad has come factory with lights on the saddlebags. I agree with what other have said. I'm guessing it has to do with Cali emissions.

Mine has lights on the bags. In the pic I am changing the 9 volt battery that runs them
