So, 'little room to work' is an understatement, how am I supposed to get the front body off? Can I remove that intake hose easily? Other suggestions ?

This is the point I finally decided to remove my crossover tube. Made it much easier. Removing the tube was not easy, but I liked the cleaner look. You supposedly can disconnect both ends of the crossover tube from the intake backing plates and it will sort of "float", giving you a little bit more working room.

This is when I decided to do the open air intake setup as well.
