Morrow Mountain State Park ride

Hello all, Just thought that I would post about my ride today. Me and 2 friends left this morning to do some riding. We could decide where to go, so I just started out riding and before we knew it, we were heading in the direction of Morrow Mountain State Park. This park is located in the Sandhill region of North Carolina. It is not really a mountain, more like a hill. The elevation is about 1000 feet. It is surrounded by 2 lakes, Lake Tillery and Badin Lake. It's about 130 miles one way from my house. It turned out to be a beautiful day for a ride. The temperatures were in the low 70's and very few clouds. Absolutely beautiful. I hope that everybody had as good a day as I had today. It has been quite a few weeks of rain, cold weather and work that kept me off the bike, but not today.

It's good to know that some are experiencing beautiful riding weather. It's cold and rainy out here in the Washington with rails and roads getting flooded or washed out.

So do you have some pictures for us?

This is too funny... I was just there today with a few friends from Monroe, NC. Our ride started out the same way, then while we were filling up on the corner of 24/27 and 200, I mentioned going and everyone agreed. Morrow Mountain is a very beautiful place and a fantastic ride to and through it.

Hey Oracle, If you are ever back toward the Laurinburg/Maxton area give me a shout and maybe we can do a meet and greet and do some riding. I live just south of Fayetteville. My cell # 910-734-3823.

I do so much miss riding in NC. We lived in Virginia Beach, VA for 11 years so have ridden throughout that state, Maryland, West Virginia and of course North Carolina. One of my favorite rides is along the Blue Ridge Parkway from the Front Royal, VA into Asheville NC. Simply beautiful. The pics/videos on this web site sure brings back some great memories.

Hopefully I'll be back there on my Nomad this summer. At least that's the plan.

Grin Ride also

Well, my ride wasn't as nice as Bud2rat, but never the less, I enjoyed it. Rode to work yesterday at 2pm from Fuquay to Durham on the winding road of...Toll 540! Then at 3:30 this am, rode home...only one on the highway. I believe it was still 63°.

During this time that we celebrate the birth of a Man who promised us ever lasting life, let us be mindful and RESPECTFUL of other religions who also celebrate their traditions this time of year also.

Well, Merry Christmas...Happy New Year!

I will surely do that and look forward to it.

The rain has finally stopped so I'll be getting out in a few minutes. It's in the mid 40s. We moved here from Hawaii in 2003 and I just can't get used to these cold and damp winters. Gorgeous summers though.
