thankyou again. i was going to ask you why and what the problem was. now I understand and will check about the regulators. to begin with I will assume that on a 2000 nomad, the regulators are on the fuel injectors and not on the tank

That is correct, like Steve mentioned, the 1500 fuel pressure regulator is mounted on the fuel rail near the injectors on the intake manifold, and on the 1600, it is incorporated into the in-tank fuel pump.
