After kickstarting English bikes with a rucksack on my back buying a 750 Honda with electric start was a life changing moment.

Ahh yes! My 78 Yamaha XT500E single cylinder Enduro. The E was really for the sound you made going over the handlebars if you forgot to engage the compression release when trying to kick that motor over. And then the memories of 87 Honda 250 Quad that kicked forward! How many times did that lever come back and hammer my shin? Thank GOD for electric starters!!

I was checking the timing on a BSA 500 circa 1955 and it backfired sending my ankle behind my head I think. My ankle swelled like a balloon and I could barely walk for 2 days !

Electric start, no oil leaks, and reliability put Japanese bikes on the map.
The 750 Honda four brought motorcycles into the 20th century.

Yep. But the 750 Honda did not have a drive shaft that could leak.
