I have been there. It's not that nice. I don't know what that says about the taste of the boys in the BMW group, but we can do a lot better than that. Hannagan Meadow is just a wide spot in the road, there's nothing there but a run down lodge with a small store and a gas pump. Last time we went there, it was out of gas.

You don't want to be running between Alpine and Hannagan after dark on a bike. The whole area is lousy with elk and deer. We were riding to Alpine late in the day, we came around a bend about 50 mph to find a cow elk and her calf standing there in the middle of the highway. The lead rider damn near hit the calf.
