fuel pump
It has been suggested that I start a new thread with my question.
Why is there a fuel pump for the carburetor models? ![]() Wouldn't gravity be enough to keep the carb bowl full? ![]() If it quit working, could one bypass it in an emergency? ![]() Thanks in advance for any input. Ride Safe, Eddie Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Eddie, I can't answer why there is a fuel pump on the carb'd model. But I can tell you that it will run if you have to by-pass the fuel pump for an emergency situation. However, it will not run right, it will spit and sputter and run like sh*t. I tried it just to see if it would run.

I'm guessing that you could "do without" a fuel pump but you may have problems in some instances (steep uphill/downhill or heavy lean angle).
