Peter Chiarelli was fired as the GM of the Boston Bruins and week later is now the general manager and president of hockey operations for the Edmonton Oilers.

Must be nice to do a shitty job and get a promotion for it.

He can. He can take a cellar dweller and make them a competetive team and then not have the cash to finish the job after handing out contracts that the team can't get out of. We have aging defense men and some core players that need to be traded but because of their no trade clauses and the duration of the contracts we won't have any cap space for a couple of years.
