To those of you that have installed one. I have one coming in the mail. Any lessons learned, words of wisdom or things to look out for?

Very easy install. There are instructions in the box with the intake.
Do you have a fuel processor to install at the same time ? |

I just installed one. 20 minute job max. Instructions are really good. It was just what I was looking for. I could retain the stock look and still get a lot more air into this air starved beast. I have a 2012 1700 Nomad with Cobra Tri-Ovals and a Cobra auto tune fuel processor. Man did this air box mod ever wake this thing up! From the moment I first talked to Joe (Chuckster) on the phone through the install it was a great experience. He said it would be here in 3 days, it was here in three days. He said it would improve the power, it improved the power. The quality of the workmanship is superb, hell, even the way it was packed in the box was in a professional manor. I think you will be happy! Good luck and enjoy.

Installed Chuckster intake with decorative left side cover powder coat black. Cobra flush cut slip on, EJK controller and Kuryakin grips with Racin Rays mod. Have windscreen on order. Tried just the exhaust first, had some back fire, put the intake and controller on and most of back fire is gone. Really depends on throttle position on decel. Found all the way closed or gradual decel just about all popping gone. The Cobra exhaust have a great tone and great rumble when slowing down. The intake gives a nice sucking sound at standstill when some throttle is applied. The EJK fired right up, no adjustments at this time. Have to do some research about setting.
Took about 2.5 hrs to do all. Now to take it easy until break in is done. Haha. |
