OK , so I have another question for all you Victory XCT riders.

What are your thoughts about the Indian Roadmaster being the start of the demise for the Victory XCT ? I can't see Polaris producing bikes that are in direct competition of each other. Comments ?????

A 71.4 beats a 106 or a 111.

It's as if Victory designers designed the topcase and lowers. Not very Indian looking.

Not in direct competition with each other, in my opinion. Victory is the performance brand and Indian is the Nostalgic brand. Victory is much more reasonably priced and appeals more to the daily rider where as Indian appeals more to the occasional rider. Not many are going to spend nearly 30 large on a bike that they intend on putting 20-30 thousand miles on per year. I am confident that Victory will be around as long as I am able to ride. Scott Wine, CEO of Polaris is a very savvy businessman and he has stated that Victory and Indian will be around for a long time. And yes Dank, I am talking about V-twin heavy cruisers and touring bikes. And yes, your Honda is much faster and handles better, blah, blah, blah......

The XCT is such a better Value than the Roadmaster. If I was in the Market, as much as I think the Indians are cool. the Victory is the better bike for the Money and may be better period. The only thing I'd change on the XCT is the brake pads. Put some HH compound pads on it (Based on my test ride of a Vision, it needs more bite and feel).

Virtually all of the Victory designers were moved over to Indian design when the Indian brand was purchased, so you are correct in your observation. Oh yeah, what does an Indian topcase and lowers look like?

I can see some of the lines from the XCT case. The lowers and case don't seem to flow perfectly. The Indian is organic shaped while the Victory has an edge, a little like anime. Neither is bad, but there is a different look.

Today's business climate dictates that as soon as a company cannot meet its expectations, the plug is pulled. If Indian fails to perform, Polaris will drop it like a hot potato. There's no place for sentimentality in business today.

there are reports out there that Polaris has a new water cooled engine and they intend to focus on the power cruiser segment of the market leaving
indian to compete against Harley.i have seen three drawings submitted by
victory engineers using this new motor and to me they look much like the
V-ROD.
