Dont panic mate ! its nothing to do with queer,s, its an old cornish fisherman,s expression for being confused, a bit like a devon sheep farmer being Hornswoggled.

Yah, I remember being in some pubs surrounded by Brits, Scots, Aussies and and us Canucks. I could hardly understand a word until everyone was pretty well under the table. By then it seems to be a universal language.

After so many pints, up the apple and pears to visit me mother-in-law!!!

By the way I tried the bounce before tightening the axle pinch bolts. That's all good but the only thing that has worked for me to cure the wobble is tightening the stem nut way above spec. as talked about here. As far as i am concerned the book spec. is a misprint.

You must have done a bit in the services then mate, to end up in a bar with such a rabble. The apples and pears (STAIRS) is all part of the cockney (London scallywags) rhyming slang, scots are jocks or sweaty socks as we prefer, the Aussies all like to call us poms, but they are the original POHME,s , they were convicts sent to the colony of Australia as Prisoners Of Her Majesty England:.I think most English people think of you canuck,s as a pretty civilized bunch of expats who know when to join a fight. I am having a set of whitewall tyres fitted next week and they are going to be laser balanced, then i am going to do Gadgets fork leg alignment trick, and if that dont cure the wobble then i will just accept it and enjoy the bike as it is.

I don't have a torque wrench but after reading the numerous posts on the suibject I cranked it till it didn't bounce more than once - buttoned it up and she's been a rock since.

Meaning "Steady as a rock" - as in no shaking.

Similar issue

I had the same problem. on investigation I found that my front tyre had been replaced with a rear tyre by a dealer I don't usually use. I can't remember brand brand but it was stamped HD and clearing marked rear. I queried this with a tyre specialist who said the camber should differ from a front to rear tyre and would cause this problem. I had the tyre changed and there was an improvement but issue was not completely resolved until I changed the head stem bearings. it's fine now.

Different answer,s all over the place on that subject, i am just about to have new whitewalls fitted and the only 150/80x16,s i can find are back tyres, i am told that the only difference is the direction in which the central inner beading runs and is overlapped to give maximum strength for acceleration and braking, fitting a back tyre on the front is not a problem if its fitted with the directional arrow pointing backwards, this advice i trust.

Here's some other advice you can trust - it's perfectly allright to put a 130/90-16 tire on the front of a Nomad, and it's a lot easier to find.
