air horn location

I know a lot of people have changed out the electric horns on their bikes to Stebel air horns. Where did you mount the Stebel? Pictures would be great if you have them.

Good question - I'd be interested to hear tales of either air horns or high output electrics.

I mounted mine to the top bolt on the engine guard, right above the stock horn.

The horn switch still operates the original horn while the push button in the photo above operates the Stebel.

This is a 1600 Nomad.

I replaced mine o my 08 and put the air horn in the same place as the oem was.
I replaced the oem on Cindy's Boardwalk and hose clamped it to her front down tube.
It doesn't look as bad as it sounds
I'll post a pic later. later.

Here's where mine is mounted on a bracket where the oem engine guard is mounted on my 2011 Vaquero

I mounted a Woolo Bad Boy, air horn in the stock horn position, under the neck at the top of the radiator,, on my '12 Nomad. 16,000 miles and many, many horn blast later, no problems.

Replaced the stocker with a Bad Boy using the same location. Works great. (Wire it directly and use a relay)

Not sure where your horn is on your 1700 Neil, my Stebel mounted on the oem horn bracket. I bought a pre wired harness direct off the battery and the length just made it.

Do you have a pic of it? If radiator service had to be done would the horn have to be removed? Which Wolo model number did you use?

It's under the neck. The same spot as Tynker's.

Sure did.

It just makes sense. It's protected from most of the weather, it's a great mounting bracket, and I was able to leave the stockers in place.

And think about it, what difference is 20" front to back placement going to make to the sound?

Not one bit!

I have a Chucksters breather on mine and have removed the left side dog bowl so I just reused the bracket for the horn. Right between the jugs.
