Anyone Ridin?

It sure seems slow on the riding news this winter. It was warm here this last Sunday, I got to enjoy a ride thru Mt. Magazine and on south to Hot Springs on Hwy 7. I ate lunch there and returned on 270 to 71 and home. A short 400 miles of much needed therapy.
Anyone going to Mt. Magazine soon? Be careful, there was so much sand I thought I was riding on the beach but with many curves, very tricky. The Ice storm they had down there was really bad. There were trees that had been cleared from the road all over the place, and the damage to the young pine forests will be seen for years at a cost of millions.
Ride safe, see everyone at Mt. View!

I haven't been out on the bike much this winter.
We wanted to get out last weekend but a deck project for my sister kept me busy.
I know what you mean about the sand. Even in town, especially in the turn lanes.
They put plenty of it out but they don't do anything to get rid of it.
It'll be April before most of it is washed away. We had about 1-1/4" of ice here in Greenwood during that first ice storm.
A lot of damage. It was just as bad in Logan county. I've still got some chainsaw work left in the back yard.
Next time your that close to the house give me a call.

Took a ride Saturday afternoon just long enough to come up on a crash where a guy in a Honda Rav4 turned left in front of a group of bikes. The lead rider ran into his rear quarter panel and was killed instantly. Luckily the other riders were spaced out enough to prevent a major pileup. The Hyabusa traveled about 350' after the impact. The rider flew about 75'. Sunday, Darlene and I rode to Jefferson Island for lunch and a walk through the gardens. I didn't ride a whole lot this winter. We actually got down to 19 degrees a couple of times.

Rode to work today about 45 miles each way. little chilly for the morning ride, but the afternoon ride was absolutely beautiful, about 75 degrees or so, bright and sunny.

I thought about it but I thought I'd better head for home. I'll call sometime, I still have that seat for you. I've been to Van Buren a couple of times for Sunday lunch at D's, that place we ate breakfast and had the dinner at when we had the rally there.

I would like to be headed to Jefferson Island, so much to see and learn there. I could learn to like it there if not for the mosquitos and snakes, the rest is great. A lot of history I knew nothing about. There's so much to learn if we just pay attention.

Hey Jesse, It was a nice day at Jefferson Island. Wore long sleeves and a leather vest. Weather was perfect. No mosquitoes yet and the peacocks were strutting their stuff. All of the flowers and tender shrubs were cut way back because of the several hard freezes we had. They will likely have to replant a lot of stuff. Y'all need to come down and we can stay there overnight in one of the bed & breakfast cabins. That would be a good time. We'll do it one weekend.

We went to the Gulf Coast on Saturday for lunch. A little windy (25 mph) but had a good ride both directions. Lunch was (Mahi Mahi) fish and chips and a big order of boiled shrimp. Ride ended up being 416 miles round trip. I went to Luckenbach earlier in the week on one evening; it was very quiet on a winter weeknight. That was another 140 mile round trip. I ride everyday to work and that has been the pattern everyday this week. So I've rode about 796 miles in the last six days. Probably go ride the Three Sisters this weekend.

I've rode to work the last 2 days. Weather's warmed up, however, it's suppose to get windy and rainy the rest of the weekend. Oh well enjoyed it, since it's been a month since my last ride.

I installed my reworked seat last Sunday and went for a short ride Sunday afternoon and again Monday afternoon after our plumber fixed hot water line leak in the house. The weather was decent but windy. New seat is much better than than the Wingsoft Large seat that was on the bike when I got it. It was nice to get a ride in.

Glad you posted Jesse. Good to hear what everyone has been doing.

Not much riding for me. Just a few lunch runs. Wife and I have been gone most of the winter with our RV. Spent a month on the gulf coast in Palacios, TX and just finished up another outing at Cedar Creek Lake near Athens, TX.

Wife and I have our reservations for Ark in June. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
