Saddle bag liner

I'm am looking to put some type of felt liner in the saddle bags of my 2012 Voyager. Wondering what type of materials would be best. Any ideas? Do's or don'ts? Thanks.

Are you going to use an adhesive and stick it to the sides or just place it in the bottom?

Adhesive and mold it to the sides and bottom but I want something that's gonna hold up and last for a long time

Felt liner will wear out with regular wear and tear. You have to use indoor outdoor carpet or leather if you want it to last. It's not easy to form the carpet when you are putting it in a plastic case. You run the risk of melting the saddlebag.

How about making something out of carpet underlay ? Make a template and make it out of one piece.
Fold the two ends and the sides up and glue or tape the edges together ?

It might not last but it is cheap to replace.

I don't know how well this might work, but have you thought of spraying pickup truck bedliner in them? It would be a durable, non-slick surface.

Ummm I never thought about the bed liner material that might work. Don't really have a preference of the material just something to protect the inside of the bag.

What are you protecting the inside of the bag from? I bought some of these and just keep my stuff in them . . . nice, simple and fairly inexpensive:

Ditto on something removable! Not sure what you're carrying that you need to protect the insides from, but maybe you can just wrap it in microfiber towels when it goes in, or purchase some sort of removable liner.

I bought these, and they work wonders on trips,etc.

My concern with lining the bag itself would be 1) Messing up the spacing for the bolts, or 2) Covering those same bolts, making them harder to check/inspect. I think if I did go that route, I'd look at the spray on bed liner and apply sparingly and avoiding some spots.

I like those bags I will probably get those bags. I'm not really protecting them from anything in particular you know how stuff just rolls around. I reall do like those bags I will be getting them! Thanks for everyone's help and interest!

I have the same set (Pocketless version) plus the matching trunk bag and have not had an issue with them. I was going to go with the style with the added side pockets but I think they are better suited to the side opening saddlebags on the Nomad.
