I used a flat piece of aluminum 1/8 thick and contoured it to my rear fender. It bolts right through the two holes that were in the fender already. I then bolted the plate and my new frame to it. I used a Radius from Custom Dynamics which has the signals and some brake lights built into the frame. I highly recommend it!
I started a thread about my build in this forum, but am on my phone so I don't have the link. Check it out! |

I agree with ZZ. I have a lightweight piece of still laying around. I found an old log in the burn pile and just used it to start hammering the steel to the correct shape. Once finished I and got my shape how I liked it I drilled holes to match up to the existing holes in the fender. A couple coats of paint and added my frame to the mount and I was done. Quick, cheap, and easy mod that cleaned up the tail section.

What are you doing for signals? I had an integrated tail light on my 900 i got from Custom Dynamics I think (dont remember) but dont really see a version for the VV. Thought about doing the LED frame that have signals integrated in but do not know how visible it would be in my rush hour commute. |
