Thanks Ponch, I hadn't forgotten that the national in Custer was where we met. Lot of miles under the tires since then. Good chance that I will get out west this year and if I hit Az we'll have to get together for a beer or three. Or if you Beemer it up to the National I will buy the first round.
BD is a quality guy and (tho he is fibing just a bit) he's just trying to drive up the used Nomad prices in general. His bike was a good one and worth more than sold for which is true for most of the 1600 cc model years. Not down grading the 1500's its just that at around 7-8 years old the depreciation pretty much stops. I see 10 year old Nomads that sell in the $4000 range.
Seems to me that if you can buy a bike in showroom condition with all the upgrades already done and tons of accessories for about $6000-6500 then keep if 5 years and ride it 50,000 miles and sell it for 2,000-3000 less than you paid for it that is a pretty incredible deal.
I am not desparate to sell the Nomad. I like it and ride it alot. If it sells someone will get a heck of a bike as Nomads are a real bargain.
I just plan a trip to the North Shores of Alaska in 2014. By then I want a dual purpose to make the trip with. And I don't really need three bikes. I have a collector in Ghana interested in my Vett. It should go some time in the next 6 months and I will just buy the Alaska bike then. There is room next to the Wing and the Nomad for a third bike so no worries.

Alaska? That does sound interesting. The adventure touring segment is really growing. advrider.com is a good website/forum to go for advice on such things. I would also suggest you watch Long Way Around and Long Way Down, but especially the former. You'll have to tell me more.
