Light bar
Hey Cactusjack and Ringadingh, I am looking at adding a led light bar to my tour pack with run brake and turn lights.
like this one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/350495590449...84.m1423.l2649 Can this be directly wired to the existing lights or would I have to use a hopkins converter like you would for a trailer? Thanks

The answer is going to depend on how the light is designed to be wired. The reason a Hoppe converter is used on a trailer (besides the fact it isolates the trailer wiring from the bike) is because a a motorcycle has separate brake/turn signal circuits and a trailer doesn't.
I'm thinking you MAY be able to wire this directly, splicing in to the taillight wiring harness of the bike.

If you want it to be just Stop/Tail (run) or Turn/Tail (run) you may be able to wire it directly.
If you want all three, Stop/Turn/Tail (run), you probably will need a converter. Only way to be sure is to hook it up and see.
