Hadn't thought about those rings. If I could find some 5 1/4" to 4", they might work. Still leaves the hole below the stereo. I don't mind if it's sunk a bit deeper.

If you're talking about a marine cover, it won't fit. I have one of those (brand new) I can't use. That's why I went ahead and got a marine radio. It just needs a carefully measured and cut flat piece of something.

thats what im talking about they make covers to down size the hole in your indash in your car. if you cant find one give me the measurements for the dash all the way out to the edges and i will make one out of aluminum to cover the rivets and all. you will have to cut the hole for the radio though

dmyers is right - Ive seen both the speaker rings and a radio adapter plate set up. I can't remember where - up here in Kanck land I thought it was Surround Sound Audio? They had speaker rings that were differnet colors / some fatter, some wider some with metal screen shell ( they were way larger in diameter than the speaker ( 6.5" speaker and the outer ring was over 7") so there should be something to cover yours. And the Radio adapter - the kit had proabably 4- 5 different blanks that went from a regular radio to fit into I think they call it a Din entry. I was looking for a different set up in my Ridgeline and it has the big hole because the fancy modle has a Nav built in!

The speaker adapter plates might work. The stereo mount, not so much. I don't need to mount the stereo (as it's already mounted). I only need to cover a small sliver of open area where I sanded a bit too much away. I'll figure something out.

When using a hammer on aluminum..I use a rubber one..no metal marking left behind. I also mask off the show side so that I don't scratch it..even though wet sanding to 2000 grit will eventually remove all marring. Sometimes I will make a mold out of softwood then shape the aluminum around it.
