Got a great 170 mile ride in today. The nomad did 42.2 mpg.

It was hot, hot, hot yesterday and I didn't get out - rode the vacumn cleaner :-[

Was out in the heat yesterday for a little over a hundred miles. Bike ran good but on three occasions cut out when in 2nd gear, had to hit the starter button! ??? No other indication of a problem, started right up, ran good, power was normal.

Might be idled a little low. I idled mine down and sometimes when I start down shifting and pull the clutch lever in the bike will die. Sounds like your problem.

Did the commute to work today. Total miles for the day was 18.

Gene, Yes that's when it would happen, at downshifting and upshifting. The idle as you know is a guess without a tach but it seems to me to be adequate, maybe about 1000rpms +/-. Can I boost it up with the idle knob without throwing off the fuel injection settings? Aside from that I tried to restart by downshifting and popping the clutch but it wouldn't restart, I 'had' to hit the starter button. Is that normal on this bike? Thanks.

Yes you should be able to adjust the idle without it effecting anything.

I just got in from my commute to work. 18 miles total so far for the day. If it doesn't rain I may ride again later.

Did the commute to work for a total of 18 miles. Then had to go to the store and pick up some things which added 4 more miles.

Not today!! Frick'in raining like a .......you know what. I will be riding back home from the cabin tomorrow sometime, in antisipation of day 2 and 3 of a riding course I'm taking. Day one is tonight. Theory class tonight and course/classroom Sat. Sunday. I hear it's suppose to rain all weekend too.

Not yet today, although I made a run to Walmart last night on the bike. Temps have been lower the past couple of days and it's been less humid at least until the next monsoonal flow comes through. They've harvested the corn in the fields around here. Riding by the corn fields used to be a few degrees cooler.

Rode to work and took off at noon to meet my friend "Clean Jim" we rode to Guelph (Royal Distributing) and then on to Burlington and Easterbrooks for a great "Hooser Dog" and an ice cream...

Great day and we did about 130 miles.

I almost rode in to work today but they were giving a 60 to 70% chance of rain. As it turns out I was off work before the rain came. I could have ridden but I didn't want to take the chance. Maybe if it clears off later today I can get a ride in.

Took a chance later in the day. Rode for 38 miles with skies that looked like rain would start at any time. Only felt a few drops of rain and managed to make it home dry.

70% chance of rain means 30% it won't, I would have ridden with those odds. Most times its over by the the time you get on the bike.
