The last I spoke with him, he was getting ready to go into the police academy so it's possible he's still chasing bad guys or running his ass off.

Hey Guys.... I know I've said it before...but sorry I haven't been around lately. My schedule is just about kicking my ass!!! As Jeff said, I'm in the academy right now...and running my ass off is an UNDERSTATEMENT!! I'm at the Academy from 7am till 5pm... At work from 5pm till Midnight-2am. That's Mon-Fri...Sat I work from 6:30am till aroun 2pm. ....That leaves Sunday as a DEAD DAY!!! LOL! If all things go well...which might I add the Academy isn't a cake walk.... (let's just say, we're running from a 1.5 miles to 4 miles a day.... and yea... I FRIGGIN HATE THAT PART!!!!) anyway... if all goes well, graduation is June 26th.... so hopefully by then, I'll have a life back!! I do get to ride every now and then...of course, it's to and from Academy & work... LOL!

I miss you guys though!! I do keep in touch w/ Jeff and he'll keep me updated w/ the goings on!! Hopefully I'll get to join one of these rides y'all are going on!!! Till then...I'll try and hop on here more...but no promises.... Can't afford to let the grades slip. You guys keep riding safe out there!!! And should anybody have any extra energy they wanna send my way, I could sure use it!! LOL!

Good to hear from you Matt. Tough it out only a couple of months to go, then you can eat all the donuts you want. Prayers are with you.

I survived one of those tiring police academy deals 36 years ago. And hey Chainsaw Al, I waited till I retired before I gorged myself to repel those donut comments. Now I say, make mine custered.

As I recall, Al preferred his donuts with beer instead of coffee.
Or was that Watchman and Rick? It's still somewhat of a blur from last year.

Chocolate Donuts & Beer!! Breakfast of Champions!!

Thanks for the kind words guys! They do mean a lot! 11 weeks to go!!
I'll spend the rest of this weekend studying for a Monday Test! UGH!! I hate these damn things! I've always been one of those who can have a conversation at lengths about a subject and regurgitate most of what little knowledge I've been able to keep in the mellon of a head....but to take a test on it has always been a real pain in the ass....

Oh well...off to study land again! Chat more soon!

Good luck Matt and be careful. I took the Civil Service Exam in 1977 for the Louisiana State Police. Went throught the interviews, polygraph and backed out 2 weeks before the academy started in March of 1978. Starting pay at that time was $750 / month before taxes. In hindsight, I wish I would have went through with it. I would have retired 6 years ago with great benefits for myself and my wife and would probably have a good job in a security firm or own one now.

Just a quick update for those who might be interested..... So far...So Good...passed all the Major Exams. Just have the Final which will be in June. Now at least we're on to the fun stuff! The last couple of days last week...and all this week we've been doing our Firearms qualifications. Needless to say....those who know me, should know this is one area where I'm quite comfortable!! It was a good break to a stressfull couple of months!! Anytime I get a chance to shoot all day... for 7 days...that's a GOOD time! Qualified w/ perfect scores..and I'm proud to say...I learned a lot! I never had a problem shooting before...but man... you can really learn some good tricks from the pros to make it even better...and quicker! Night qualifications was a blast! Even got a chance to shoot a fully automatic M4!!! I could go on for days about shooting.... LOL! Next week we're doing our driving qualifications! That should be fun too!!! If only they would let me do it on the Nad!! LOL! Hope everybody's doing good here!!!!!!!! Miss You Guys!! And thanks again for all the well wishes!!! I think I'll go and get some donuts now! LOL!
