7" Visor

I'm putting a visor from show chrome on the headlight, instructions say lay a coat of clear silicone on the chrome ring, Is that the way to go?, any other suggestions. I'm thinking this is pretty cheesey that you have to silicone it to get it to stay!

Not to make you feel bad, seems others already did , but I have visors on my head light and driving lights from Custom World International. No silicone, no rattles.
