Baffle Removal Question

I have read the positives, primarily the deeper sound (plus it looks snazzier).

Are there any negatives to removing the baffle? Emission change, pinging, lower gas mileage ...anything bad at all? Curious minds want to know.

I debaffled mine in May. Other than a deeper, mellow sound, there was no noticeable change in driveability, mileage, or anything else. It's a pretty safe little mod, in my opinion.

No performance issues at all. Just a much better sound especially at slower speeds.

I have not noticed anything different except the great sound. Everytime I fire the bike up I think how pleased I am that I did this mod. I dunno about looking snazzier.

V&H's have 2 screws on each side.....(at least mine did)... take them out and wiggle baffles out.... it'll be too loud so what I did was cut them in half and reinstall... great low loud rumble. :) :)

It's a decent sound without all the cost of after-market pipes. I'm happy but have no noticible increase in performance. However, there are other things to do that help that and it cost less than a dollar. It's the resistor mod, and it works. I run regular at sea level in over 100 degree temps with no pinging. I'm to sexy for my leathers.

if i cut the baffles in half will i have to do anything else to the bike to make it run right. i have a 2003 nomad fuel injected model with v&h pipes

If it "runs right" now I'd be amazed.

I'd cut them in half and do the Gadget resistor mod & a Caddmann Kit.
