Quick Connect fro battery

Is there such a thing as cables you out on your battery terminals and leave the ends behind the side panels so you can charge the bettery when needed with taking off seats and luggage rack? Thanks!

Yes there are. I have the Schumacher battery tender and I have a pigtail that came with it. You take off the seat and then attach them to the battery terminals. Mine comes off the left side as that is the location of nearest power outlet. You can hang it from either side. When I ride I stuff it under the seat.

Sure is, the Battery Tenders have a pigtail you install on your battery so you can plug in the charger easily. Or you can make up your own type of plug from a pigtail for trailer lights.

If you don't have a battery tender I would suggest you purchase one. Wal-Mart has them for about $20.00. I keep my battery fully charged all the time. If I'm not riding I have it hooked to the battery tender. It will help your battery have a longer life by keeping it charged. One of the worst things for a battery is to have it lose its charge repeatedly. By keeping it charged all the time it should extend battery life.

As all the above posts say... battery tender is the way to go.

No place to plug in the battery tender where I store my bike so I use a 1.5 amp solar panel. The panel came with pig tail to go on battery. Should have a window that faces South to hang the solar panel in. This works good for me.

Heres a sampling I found. can someone reccomend a specific one. Keep in mind, I want to have one that has cables for easy access to avoid taking off seat, luggage rack.....

The Schumacher 1562A is the same one I have. I purchased mine at Wal-Mart for $19.99 or so. I would make sure the one at Amazon comes with the pigtail. That is an important thing to have. You only have to take the seats off one time and attach the pigtail. Then after that just plug in the charger and connect it to the pigtail hanging under your seat.

That's the one i have (2 actually) I use on my Bike and one on my car when in storage for winter. Works GREAT!!! As others suggested it is available at Wal-Mart here in Canukland, and I think should be same in US stores. Also check Harbour Freight stores they have them too as well as Princess Auto for anyone reading this north of the border.
Canadian Tire has there own on sale sometimes too, that is an intelligent charger as it MAINTAINS the battery not just charge it, a distinction that needs to be made when looking. Schumacher's do as to why I got mine. They have a ring terminal for connection to the battery directly AND clamp style for connection to any battery. I put mine on and slipped it under the frame on the right side and it sticks out by the side cover on top. I can stuff it in out of the way and pull it out when needed and does not interfere with anything. Good cheap investment/insurance for your battery and never have to worry that it won't start when you want to ride. Battery Tender brand are good too, but pricey here and these do the same job.

I know a lot of guys use them here but Ive personally never found them to be a neccessity, My battery stays up pretty good on day to day riding even after sitting for days. In the winter when its parked for a while I'll put my regular charger on it for a few hours once or twice over the three months.
As for lasting longer, I just replaced the oem battery this summer after eight seasons. I don't think you can do any better than that.

I use one in the winter, but since I installed my radio last spring I notice that it needs to be charged after a few days of non riding. I found it to be the battery and replaced it. Like you it was the original and so 8 years ain't bad for a MC battery when most car batteries only last up to 5 years. The original is still holding a charge, but the capacity is down. I'm keeping it as a spare and MAY use it in my trailer? As for a maintainer keeping a battery LONGER, it CAN if the battery becomes deeply discharged as it won't let it get below 10.5 V the point at which most 12V batteries start to die a quick death and not recharge as before. Most factory batteries are better built than aftermarket as well so I don't expect the replacement to last HALF as long as my original, but time will tell!!

I have an Argo Atv that I use for hunting, that battery is at least ten years old, and Ive had it sit for 9 months and still crank over and start. I just started it a couple weeks ago after sitting for about eight weeks. The thing has to crank quite a bit to get the fuel pumped up to the motor. The last few years I keep thinking I'll be replacing it soon but it keeps on going.

Is it a 6 or 8 wheel argo? I had a friend in Belleville, his dad had a 6 wheel with a home made CAB on it. Looked a little goofy, but it worked and he used in for ice fishing on Bay of Quinte each winter.

As for a battery that is GREAT, but not the norm unfortunately :(
The original equipment batteries seem to last longer then aftermarket from my experience. I use to work for a battery company years ago and GM for example factory would last up to 7 years or maybe longer. Aftermarket, well MOST not much past 5 years as to why most don't warranty them past that. I had an Eliminator battery with a lifetime warranty. Replaced that one 5 times over the years till they changed there policy and it was vehicle specific instead of on the battery itself (as in what they installed it in was what they would warranty) :(" title="" border="0"/>
I think the older batteries were better built too, but what do I know

Ive got an eight wheel drive model, although Ive had a couple of six wheelers in the past. They are awesome machines on the ice and in the bush. Mine has all the accessories such as a top, winch, tracks and other stuff. Ive had five different Argos over the years.
